How do I register for a course?

To register for a course, use our online booking system. Go to the course description and click on the “Book Now” button. This will take you to our scheduling website. There you will select a date and time. You will be shown how many seats are available and options to purchase eBook versions of provider manuals. Once you select the date and time, you will be directed to fill out the registration information and make the payment.

Can I take courses online?

We offer most of our courses online, but online courses require an in-person skill session to demonstrate your mastery of the information.

What should I bring to class with me?

You should bring the Provider Manual specific to the course, a photo ID, and writing supplies.

Why don’t you offer “instant” certification cards?

The American Heart Association (AHA) does not offer “instant” online CPR cards. Instant cards do not require a skills test. Neither Brooks CPR nor AHA will provide certification or completion cards without a skills validation session.

Do you offer business, in-home, or group training?

Brooks CPR offers CPR training for businesses and groups. These training sessions can be done at home or the business office.

What do I need to bring if I’m a renewal student?

Renewal students need to bring their previous AHA provider eCard or a physical card (if you have one). You can still apply for the renewal course if it has been less than 30 days since your card expired.

Certification Questions

How soon do I get my course completion card?

All CPR cards from Brooks CPR are received at the end of the course on the same day. AHA provides eCards, which are emailed after you pass their certification class.

How long is my certification card valid?

AHA cards are valid for up to 2 years.

Do I get certified by the American Heart Association (AHA)?

Brooks CPR provides the information necessary to pass the AHA certification exam. We provide a course completion certificate after you finish our course and AHA will provide a card after you pass their exam and our skills validation test.

What do I do if I lose my card?

All AHA cards are accessible online. If you “lose” your card, you can find it on AHA’s website here.

Do you accept non-AHA course cards?

We only accept American Heart Association cards so we can verify that you were taught by qualified instructors. We don’t accept cards from unregulated organizations. When you have an AHA card, we know you were taught according to AHA’s guidelines and regulations.
