Types of Group Classes

Brooks CPR offers group classes for adults and teens to teach CPR, AED use, and other life-saving strategies. Our classes prepare you on how to save the life of someone who’s choking or who’s stopped breathing. Instead of panicking during an emergency, you’ll know exactly what to do. Read the descriptions of each class and choose the package that works best for your needs.

Business/Corporate CPR Training

Organizations and large groups who want to be more prepared to react during an emergency situation should sign up for our business/corporate CPR training class. This class takes place at your office building for your convenience. In the business/corporate course, participants will learn how to perform hands-only CPR and how to activate the emergency response system. Your instructor will also teach you how to recognize the signs of cardiac arrest so you know when to call emergency services and start CPR.

This class is especially ideal for office workers, athlete trainers, nursing home staff, first responders, and others who interact with vulnerable populations. It’s smart for all types of workers to learn CPR and emergency procedures, so no matter what your job is, you can sign up for our CPR classes. After the class, you will not receive certification. Participants must complete one of our full courses to get certified.

Friends and Family CPR

Our Friends and Family CPR class package is available for groups of 4 to 6 people and lasts for 1.5 hours. The instructor will cover techniques for adults, children, and infants. You will learn hands-only CPR and CPR with breaths for adults, CPR with breaths for children, and CPR for infants. You will learn how to use an AED on adults and children. The instructor will also teach how to clear obstructions from adults, children, and infants who have mild to severe airway blockages.

We teach these skills in a dynamic group environment where participants can watch the trainer and practice at the same time. This American Heart Association (AHA) technique has proven to be an effective learning technique and provides the most amount of time for hands-on practice.

Infant and Child CPR

In our Infant and Child CPR class package, participants will learn how to do CPR, how to use an AED, and how to alleviate choking in infants and children. We recommend this course for new parents and families concerned about child safety. We also recommend that children in the family take the class as well. Older siblings who recognize signs of choking can help their infant sibling or notify parents of an emergency.

This CPR class lasts 1 hour and is suitable for groups of 4 to 6 people. After taking this course, you won’t be certified. You must take our certified courses that provide an even more comprehensive education and a skill test.

Adult, Infant, and Child CPR

Our Adult, Infant, and Child CPR class package trains participants in CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants, AED use for adults and children, and choking relief strategies for adults, children, and infants. Our instructor will also train participants on how to recognize signs of choking, how to check a pulse, and when to call for emergency services.

This is one of our most comprehensive in-home CPR classes. We recommend this course for new parents, families, and babysitters. With this extensive class, participants will be prepared for proper procedures if someone has stopped breathing, is choking, or no longer has a pulse. This class is suitable for all ages, accepts groups of 4 to 6 people, and takes 1 hour. You won’t be certified after the class. If you want to get certified in CPR, AED use, and first aid strategies, take our Heartsaver course.

Babyshower Infant CPR Training

Our Babyshower Infant CPR Training package is a good way to make sure family members and friends are well-prepared to take care of an infant during an emergency. During this course, participants will learn when to recognize signs of choking and when to call emergency services. You will learn how to perform hands-only CPR on infants and how to check for a pulse.

This class is designed for new parents, family members, and friends. Up to 20 people can take this class and it lasts 1 hour. Participants will not be CPR certified after completing the class and must take one of our certified courses to get a course completion card.

Benefits of Group CPR Training

Group CPR training provides a convenient option for multiple people to learn life-saving skills. On-site training reduces travel expenses and is more cost-effective than paying for multiple individual certified courses. Our in-home and on-site business courses are not time intensive, offering useful skills in under two hours. Participants also aren’t required to purchase any course materials. If, after the group class, you do decide to complete one of our courses to get AHA certification, you will already have a foundation to build upon.
